Virus outbreaks
have become prolific recently. It is not uncommon for anti-virus
software to require several updates each week, sometimes each day!
Even though your corporate virus protection is designed
to periodically check for updates, you may still be exposed to new
viruses because:
- The new virus is released between when your anti-virus
software was last automatically updated and before the next update.
- The release of new signature files for your anti-virus
software may not coincide with the automatic update period.
- Your anti-virus software fails to update due
to factors such as internet congestion, overload at the anti-virus
manufacturers download site or even failure of the software to
automatically update.
The answer is our Anti-Virus Update Service. For
a fixed $35 inc GST per incident charge, Blueprint Technologies
Australia will make sure your systems are kept as virus free as
possible.
As new viruses are released and updates become available,
our technical staff will be notified by SMS and e-mail. When this
happens our team will swing into action, connecting to your server
and performing any updates necessary. We will send you a report
of the status of all updates along with your account.
Some important things to know about this service:
- This service is only offered during normal business
hours and is a non guaranteed service. This means that whilst
we will attempt to install virus updates as soon as possible,
we make no guarantee this will be done as there are factors outside
our control that may delay notification of threats or availability
of resources.
- While this service will give your company maximum
protection from viruses, there is never a 100% guarantee that
you will be protected. Viruses can spread rapidly before the anti-virus
companies get a chance to release an update for their software.
- This service only applies to servers. It is not
feasible to extend this service to workstations. Internal staff
members will be notified of the availability of new virus updates
as they become available.
- Blueprint Technologies Australia maintenance
clients are automatically protected by this service as part of
their maintenance program. Clients on the maintenance program
will automatically be included in this program.
The cost of this service does not include resolving
actual infections on your site. This work is still performed on
a billable hourly basis.
To subscribe to this important service, please contact
us. We will confirm your enrolment in the program and will include
the cost of the update service on your next account. If you wish
to cancel this service at any time you can send an e-mail to eupdates@bta.com.au
with the subject of "unsubscribe priorityavservice" and
you will be removed from the program.
